Summer 10k

So time for our next ‘social’ event is the Summer 10k handicap on Tuesday 27th August, this consists of the usual running groups but running a 10k road route, with staggered start times to enable the groups to finish around the same time. There will also be a 5K option for those not wishing to take part in the 10k!

Like  in previous years we are going to start & finish at Sandon Village Hall where we have booked the village hall again for refreshments straight after the run. This isn’t a competitive event, it’s a Tuesday evening club run but a different location and a chance to mingle afterwards, however this will be a slightly earlier start time from the village hall of 6.15pm!

If the group leaders could please confirm if you are happy to lead your groups for this event with your approx. 10k time, if the groups are too large (being on road we do need to be careful, considerate & safe) then perhaps you can nominate a vice-leader to stagger/split the groups, please e-mail social@roystonrunners.co.uk. Once we have group leaders in place we will send another more detailed e-mail with the start times.

We will be having a picnic & refreshments afterwards at Sandon Village Hall, so we will be having the summer picnic boxes again, after these proved popular for the last couple of years. These will have a selection of sandwiches, scones/cakes and we know how everyone loves cake!! There will be vegetarian and other dietary options available. The picnic boxes will be £6 per person and can be purchased through Connect my Club.

Once you have paid for your picnic box if you can then confirm your choice of either the 5k or 10k run and also confirm if you have any dietary requirement for your post-run picnic box by way of the attached form that would be very helpful.

If you would just like to come along for the run (with no picnic) then there is no need to book a ticket, you can just turn up on the night.
